Aganang Basetsana Youth Development (ABYD) is dedicated to creating a safer, more equitable world for young women in South Africa and beyond. Our mission is to empower young women by providing them with the necessary tools, support, and opportunities to overcome the challenges they face. We are committed to fostering a generation of confident, independent, and resilient women who can lead with strength and compassion.

At the core of our mission is the belief that every young woman deserves to feel safe and valued, whether in public spaces, educational environments, or within the comfort of their own home. We recognize that many young women face significant obstacles, including issues related to safety, mental health, and societal pressures, which often leave them feeling vulnerable and voiceless.

ABYD aims to address these challenges by:

1. Providing Holistic Support:
   • We offer comprehensive counseling services to help young women navigate personal and psychological challenges, promoting mental well-being and emotional resilience.
   • Our defense classes equip young women with practical self-defense skills, empowering them to protect themselves and feel secure in their environments.

   • Through motivational talks and workshops, we inspire young women to embrace their strengths and see their imperfections as opportunities for growth. We encourage them to build self-confidence, recognize their potential, and take pride in their unique identities.

   • We guide young women on their career paths through mentorship and career counseling, helping them set and achieve their goals. We believe in nurturing future leaders who can advocate for themselves and others, becoming voices for the voiceless in their communities.
